CDF Votes for Economic Renewal of Former GM, Valero Plants and Supports Other Jobs


New Castle, DE (Vocus) April 27, 2010

The Council on Development Finance, the advisory board to the Delaware Economic Development Office, recommended the agency award loans and grants to seven projects for job creation, relocation and expansion at a public hearing today.

Among the projects, the Council voted unanimously to recommend the agency to commit $ 21.5 million to Fisker Automotive and $ 20 million to the Delaware City Refinery Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of PBF Energy Partners, LP. Both companies will acquire plants previously shuttered in Delaware, pledging to spend millions in capital investments and create thousands of jobs. The recommendations by the Council finalize months of work by the Markell Administration to recruit the companies to Delaware.

GM’S 2006 Cadillac XLR: Cadillac Performance Parts, Aftermarket Parts

The 2006 Cadillac XLR-V is the newest addition to the high-performance V-Series vehicles for the ultra-luxury class of high-performance roadsters.

The 2006 Cadillac XLR is equipped with a supercharged 4.4-liter Northstar V-8 engine, good for 440 horsepower and 425 pound-feet of torque–120 horsepower. The 32-valve V-8 is backed by a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission.

The car has recalibrated Magnetic Ride Control, 13.4-inch dual-piston front brakes and 13.0-inch single-piston brakes in the rear, a larger front stabilizer bar, and the addition of a rear stabilizer bar. Styling cues include a wire-mesh grille, 19-inch wheels, and wood and aluminum accents in the interior.

BMW Group U.S. Division Reports March 2009 Sales



Woodcliff Lake, NJ (Vocus) April 1, 2009

The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) reported March sales of 21,125 vehicles, a decrease of 22.9 percent over the 27,404 vehicles sold in the same month of 2008. For the first quarter, The BMW Group also reported a year-to-date sales volume of 51,244 vehicles, down 25.2 percent, compared to 68,529 vehicles sold in the same period a year ago.

BMW Brand Sales

Sales of BMW brand vehicles decreased 24.2 percent in March for a total of 17,520 vehicles compared to 23,115 vehicles reported in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date, BMW brand sales were down 26.8 percent, to 42,731 vehicles compared to 58,365 vehicles sold in the same period of 2008.

The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) reported June sales of 20,849 vehicles, a decrease of 20.3 percent from the 26,155 vehicles sold in the same month of 2008. The BMW Group also reported a year-to-date sales volume of 114,448 vehicles, down 27.5 percent, compared to 157,913 vehicles sold in the first half of 2008.
